BOUT THE CANDIDATE

Demetrius Rease is a young professional wielding over a decade of experience within the architectural & engineering industry supported by a strong passion for urban planning. Demetrius also boasts taking the opportunity to listen to the concerns of city residents and visitors over the course of the 3,400+ rides that he has provided locally in 1 year and 3 months as a rideshare driver.
"As a candidate for City Commissioner of Ward 4 for the City of Panama City in the 2025 election, I strive to revitalize and restore the city for all residents by FIRST committing to improving its infrastructure and its public relation with open dialogue, transparency, and community engagement. In addition, I commit to vote against any unwanted and expensive projects, especially those in which there is an overwhelming opposition. My passion for architecture and urban planning is naturally centered around public service by empowering individuals, businesses, and communities forward; for without WE THE PEOPLE, architecture and urban planning would be meaningless."

Demetrius Rease, who also goes by "D" is the youngest of three siblings, born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, just 20 miles northwest of Atlanta. With a strong passion for design, innovation, and people, he currently works at an architectural and engineering firm, contributing his skills to various projects. In addition to his full-time job, Demetrius also rideshares with Uber and Lyft, allowing him to connect with people and explore the city.

Balancing work and family life, Demetrius has been happily married for nearly a decade and is the proud father of four wonderful boys. Demetrius thrives in the bustling environment of family life, instilling values of creativity and hard work in his children while pursuing his own professional ambitions.

Increase city revenue by diversifying our local economy and as a result, instill opportunities and encouragement in our youth and emerging professionals so that they reinvest their education in to the city and their community.
Improve our land-use and zoning by encouraging multi-use public spaces and introducing integrated & adaptive street & surface parking so that various businesses can operate and thrive symbiotically.
